Privacy
Effective October 7, 2026
This is the privacy policy for the Machine Commerce website. Machine Commerce is an applied AI research lab and a branch of General Machines Pvt. Ltd., which operates this site.
It is short because the site does very little with your information.
I. The short version
The site does not track you. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no advertising or tracking scripts, and has no accounts or checkout.
We receive information only when you choose to send it, which today means emailing founders@generalmachines.io.
II. What the site is
A set of pages: writing, research, a manifesto, product and solution descriptions. Fonts, images and code are served from the site itself, not from third parties.
Our host, Vercel, may process standard request data such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, in order to deliver and protect the site. That processing is theirs, under their own terms. We do not use it to profile readers.
III. Email
Our contact page is a mail link. If you write to founders@generalmachines.io, we receive your address and whatever you put in the message. We use it to reply and to run the conversation you started. We keep it as long as it is useful for that or as the law requires, and we delete it when you ask.
IV. The Get updates field
The Get updates field in the footer is not connected to anything yet. What you type into it is not sent, stored or shared.
If we switch it on, this page will say what we collect and why before we collect any of it.
V. The Macintosh note
On the manifesto and contact pages you can type a note into the Macintosh. The note stays in your browser tab. We do not receive it.
VI. Links out
The site links to LinkedIn, X, GitHub and other sites, and the share buttons on articles are plain links. Nothing loads from those services until you click, and after you click you are under their policies, not ours.
VII. Our research
Machine Commerce measures how software agents read and buy from stores. That work looks at public storefront surfaces: product pages, feeds, policies and similar files. We do not log in to stores, and we do not collect information about a store’s shoppers.
When a test needs an account or a payment step, we use test accounts and test data, not real customers.
Where a result names a store, it is built from what that store makes public. A store can ask us to correct or remove a result at founders@generalmachines.io.
Client work, such as the on-prem planogram, runs under its own written agreement. This policy covers the website, not that work.
VIII. Who we share with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We use a host and an email provider to run the site and read our mail. We may disclose information when the law requires it or to protect the rights, safety and security of Machine Commerce, its readers or others.
IX. Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to founders@generalmachines.io. We will answer within a reasonable time.
X. Changes
If the site starts to collect something new, we will update this page first and change the date at the top.
